The water that gives our vodka its special flavor and purity is extracted from an underground spring in the Vista Hermosa area, located on the Carretera Austral towards Cerro Castillo. It is added to our vodka in its purest and most natural state.
The vodka production cycle is a closed loop. The production waste (watery potato mash) is returned to the same potato producer to be transformed into compost and fertilizer for their farm.
Hailing from Bulgaria and making Chile his home since 2001, Yuliyan Popov is the visionary behind Vodka Kawesqar. Driven by a hereditary passion for distilling, Popov ventured to Patagonia in 2019 to realize his dream. Employing the region’s prime potatoes and pristine glacial water, he produces a superior vodka that seamlessly blends European heritage with the untamed spirit of Patagonia.
